A second flip-flop brand makes its entry into F1 with Sahara Force India
After McLaren's PR stunt, Sahara Force India also decided to play the communication game around the Halo, as the Brazilian flip-flop brand Havaianas also made an appearance.
Last week, McLaren managed to create media buzz by announcing that the Gandys flip-flop brand would appear on the Halo during the Melbourne Grand Prix.
But the agreement announced today by Sahara Force India with the famous Brazilian brand Havaianas is valid for several races, including its home event in Sao Paulo. Logically, the chosen location is that of this new safety element, as explained by Márcio Utsch, CEO of Alpargatas: « At Havaianas, we pride ourselves on listening to our brand’s fans. In recent months, we’ve seen more and more people associating our flip-flops with the new Halo on social media. With Force India, we have developed the remarkable design of the car’s halo, which is the logical place to put our flip-flop. »
All that remains is to see which brand will next take advantage of this location to find a sponsor or offer an additional spot to an existing sponsor.
