Graeme Lowdon supports the Jules Bianchi association
Graeme Lowdon, who was head of the Manor team when Jules Bianchi had his terrible accident, supports the association launched by the Bianchi family by auctioning a drawing by the young man.
During the many hours on a plane, some people spend their time on their computers or watching movies. Graeme Lowdon, who will bring Manor to LMP1 this season, has another hobby, namely drawing.
If he sometimes shares them on social networks, he is not in the habit of selling them. This time, however, he is making an exception to this rule for a good cause. He has opened bidding via his Twitter account for the acquisition of one of the 17 copies of a drawing he made of Jules Bianchi. The number 17 is not chosen at random, as it is the number the Nice-born driver selected for his F1 career. It has since been retired by the FIA as a sign of respect.
At present, the 17th highest bid stands at 150 pounds, but the auction remains open until January 30th. All funds raised will be donated to the Jules Bianchi Association, launched last year by the young Frenchman’s parents.
This initiative has two major objectives. The first is to provide support to the USCL service at the L’Archet Hospital in Nice, where Jules was, in order to improve the comfort of younger patients and their families. The second is to support young karting drivers who share the values of the JB#17 charter.
The Association will also always be visible on the cars of the Toulouse-based Tech1 Racing team, for which the driver had secured the title of vice-champion in the World Series by Renault in 2012. We can also remember the beautiful tribute by Norman Nato during the Monaco weekend this season.
More than ever, Jules Bianchi remains in the minds of those who had the chance to share his good humor and admire his talent.
