Marcus Ericsson places his Sauber ahead of a Williams at Silverstone
Although not scoring points, the Sauber team had the satisfaction of finishing ahead of a Mercedes-powered Williams at the British Grand Prix thanks to Marcus Ericsson's 14th place.

It was a pretty good race for me. I maximized the performance of the car and my lap times were decent, especially during the second half of the race. Of course, we want to be higher and fight for points, but our pace wasn’t competitive enough for this weekend. We managed to make the most of it, and the team did a good job improving the car throughout our stay at Silverstone. An enthusiasm that his teammate, Pascal Wehrlein, struggled to share, as he experienced a rather difficult race, particularly from a strategic point of view: « The race did not unfold as we had hoped. When the safety car came out at the start of the race, we decided to make the mandatory pit stop and switch to Medium tires. I then returned to the pits a lap later to switch to Soft tires, intending to finish the race with them. Unfortunately, the tires were losing more and more grip and I had to change them again. I hope we have a better weekend in Budapest,” concluded the German.
