Cars 3 has its own box at Silverstone
Just before the release of Cars 3 on screens, Disney partnered with Formula 1 to have its own pit box in the Silverstone pit lane.
The associations between F1 and cinema have been numerous over the years. The most recent example was the cooperation between Star Wars and Renault during the Monaco Grand Prix.
But this time, instead of partnering with a team, Disney, the owner of the Cars franchise, decided to form a partnership with F1. While this doesn’t translate into visibility on two particular cars, it has the advantage of having its own garage in the pit lane, with the two heroes from the third installment on display.
It is also planned that Owen Wilson, the voice of Flash McQueen, will be present at tomorrow’s race. He will also visit the Mercedes stand to meet Lewis Hamilton, who has his own character named after him. He will also be visible with Ferrari since Sebastian Vettel lent his voice for the German and Italian versions of the film. Fernando Alonso was content with the Spanish version.
Formula 1 also takes the opportunity to highlight one of its latest innovations, F1 Experiences, as the actor will also discover the circuit aboard one of the two-seater race cars.
