Aston Martin, Cosworth and Zytec invited by the FIA to an engine meeting

With Ferrari, Mercedes, Honda, and Renault, Formula 1 can only rely on four engine manufacturers to equip the 10 teams registered in the world championship.

Honda, the latest entrant in the big circus of Formula 1, is nonetheless facing the worst difficulties in adapting its expertise to the very high demands of the discipline.

That is why the FIA and the new owners of Formula 1 have decided to establish a working group on power units, in order to simplify engine regulations and increase the attractiveness of the discipline to bring in new manufacturers.

According to our colleagues at Autosport, a meeting of this working group was held at the beginning of the week with the presence of Aston Martin, which almost bought the Force India team a few months ago and thus demonstrates a particular interest in Formula 1, Cosworth, one of the historical engine suppliers of the discipline, and the British group Zytek.

This constructive meeting follows a previous one last March where the Volkswagen group was present. The desire to broaden the spectrum of engine possibilities while keeping in mind that Formula 1 must retain its elite status was at the heart of the discussions in these meetings.
