Green light for Pascal Wehrlein’s return to Sauber
After missing the first week of testing, Pascal Wehrlein is set to make his return to the wheel. He'll be taking to the track in Sauber's C36 tomorrow.
Pascal Wehrlein was not able to participate in the first week of winter testing due to his pain from his impressive accident during the Race of Champions at the end of January. He was then replaced by Antonio Giovinazzi, Ferrari’s third driver.
The young Italian did not underperform since in two days, he was able to complete 151 laps of the Barcelona circuit, with a best time five-tenths of a second behind his teammate, Marcus Ericsson. Under these circumstances, it was important for Pascal Wehrlein not to leave his seat vacant for too long and especially to get to grips with the new 2017 cars before arriving in Melbourne.
The German driver will be able to make his comeback as he has received medical clearance, as he confirmed himself on social media.

This should put an end to the crazy rumors suggesting that the team was already in talks with Charles Leclerc to potentially have the Monegasque driver race in Melbourne.
