Wihuri follows Valtteri Bottas to Mercedes
Having worked alongside Valtteri Bottas for many years, the Finnish company Wihuri will also be switching from Williams to Mercedes this season.
When a sponsor chooses to support an up-and-coming driver, it is with the hope of reaping a return on investment when the driver reaches the top.
This is what is happening for Wihuri as it has been associated with Valtteri Bottas since 2008 and will now benefit from visibility within the best team on the grid, Mercedes.
Juha Hellgren, the CEO of the company, can only be pleased with this new partnership: « We have been supporting Valtteri for several years now and it’s great to see him have the opportunity to show what he’s worth at Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport. He has a real chance to fight for the world championship title and I am sure that our partnership with Mercedes will be a success for both parties. »
Wihuri is therefore not just a sponsor of Valtteri Bottas but of the team as a whole. This will translate into the presence of its logo on both Lewis Hamilton’s and Valtteri Bottas’s suits and helmets, as well as the civilian uniforms of all team members. However, it is not expected to appear on the car, as was the case at Williams.
