Charles Leclerc gives up Abu Dhabi for Haas
Charles Leclerc's number of F1 test sessions this year will stop at four, as he has decided to forego the Abu Dhabi session in order to concentrate on the GP3 title.
Charles Leclerc knows how to compartmentalize. While he understands that driving an F1 car is always a rare opportunity, he also knows that he is primarily judged on his performance in competition. That’s why his weekend in Abu Dhabi will be exclusively dedicated to conquering the GP3 title. The driver himself made the announcement on his Twitter profile.
A really hard decision to make but I won’t be driving in Abu Dhabi during the Free Practice 1 with @HaasF1Team because of the timetable. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/mXW0vcQODt

This is not the first time he has made such a decision. Previously in Malaysia, his schedule for the day had him follow a Formula 1 session with one in GP3. This time, he would have gone from a Formula 1 session to the GP3 qualifications.
Or, while there are still three contenders for the title, he cannot afford to waste time getting back into rhythm with his ART Grand Prix car for such a crucial session. The decision of the young Monegasque is therefore entirely logical.
