Modo becomes a Sauber partner

The impact of Marcus Ericsson is being increasingly felt at Sauber. Indeed, while rumors strongly suggest that the new owner of the Swiss team is very close to the Swedish driver, he is also benefiting his team with his sponsors.

This is how MODO, who has been accompanying him for many years, decided to become a premium partner of Sauber. Although the announcement was made only today, a first sign emerged last weekend at Spa-Francorchamps as its logo appeared on the side mirrors of the two drivers’ single-seaters.

The company is not the first in its sector to invest in sports as the Luxottica group decided to showcase two brands, Oakley, and then Ray-Ban, at Ferrari. All team members will now have MODO products.

Nevertheless, the partnership between the two companies will not stop there since MODO has the particularity of using carbon for certain glasses models, a material abundantly used by an F1 team. This is why Alessandro Lanaro, its founder-CEO, mentions technical collaborations: « We are also excited to develop our partnership by working with Sauber’s engineering division to research new technologies that we can apply to glasses. »

Sauber thus clearly demonstrates its intention to show that it is also engaging in collaborations with other industries, which is a significant source of revenue for teams like McLaren or Williams.
