Red Bull’s marketing strategy is to invest in various extreme sports to promote its energy drink “that gives you wings.” That’s why when the Austrian brand owned its first team in F1, it decided to adopt a radically different communication tone compared to other teams. Nevertheless, this tone became more sanitized as the team achieved success on the track.

It remains that creating offbeat content is still a major focus, particularly with demonstrations in cities across the globe. A partner like GoPro, whose mission is to share videos in the most extreme situations, perfectly aligns with what Red Bull might be looking for.

To demonstrate a willingness to bring the team and its drivers closer to the fans, the two partners have decided to have Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat speak in their press release. The Australian stated: “It’s a pretty cool partnership. Red Bull has always wanted to do things a bit differently and I think GoPro shares a lot of those values. It should create some pretty crazy ideas and I guess I’ll be the one behind the wheel to make them happen!”
