Bob Bell leaves Manor in turn
The exodus intensifies at Manor: while Graeme Lowdon and John Booth are expected to leave the team at the end of the season, Bob Bell has already ceased his activities within Manor. He is expected to join Renault.
Nevertheless, the departures of the different leaders seem to have different causes: while Graeme Lowdon and John Booth are at a strategic disagreement with their shareholder, Bob Bell appears to have seized a better opportunity for the future.
Thus, while he had only joined Manor five months ago as a consultant, he is said to have already started working at Lotus to prepare for Renault’s return. It would therefore be a return to his roots since he was one of the officials of the French manufacturer for many years. He had even been the team manager following the 2008 Singapore Crashgate.
In any case, this new departure further weakens a team that seemed to be starting again on solid ground, through its partnerships with Mercedes and Williams.
