Manor responds to Fernando Alonso’s statements
Fernando Alonso is definitely getting more attention for his statements than his performance on the track this season. Manor responded humorously to his comments about them.
Two weeks after undermining Honda’s honor by comparing its engine to that of a GP2 car, Fernando Alonso this time made an untimely comment regarding Manor.
Indeed, when Rachel Brookes from Sky Sports asked Fernando Alonso what he thought about Manor managing to get the best engine on the grid, namely Mercedes, the McLaren driver replied: « They can put an aircraft engine in it, they won’t go any faster. »
Rather than getting into a sterile controversy, Manor chose a humorous tone by reminding everyone that the two teams will be neighbors next year in the pit lane since the teams’ locations are determined by their ranking from the previous season.
We’ll let that comment lie for now. Plenty of time to discuss it when we’re garage neighbours next year 😘 https://t.co/4kFoF7z3jw

At the end of the day, the small team greeted in their own way the celebration of Fernando Alonso’s 250th Grand Prix by stating that they hadn’t received a cake from him.
We did not get a Fernando biscuit, @McLarenF1. Please dispatch some to our end of the Paddock. ✈️🚀🍪 https://t.co/T7ekYnQE1J
