Microsoft celebrates the launch of Forza Motorsport 6 on Xbox with Lotus

For several seasons, Microsoft has been both a technical and commercial partner of Lotus. The American company takes the opportunity to highlight different subsidiaries based on their respective news.

In Singapore, it is Xbox, its subsidiary specializing in video game consoles, that received particular exposure. As early as Friday, its logo could be seen prominently displayed on the engine covers of the two Enstone monoplaces.

But a second activation phase was planned, with very flashy combinations to promote the Asian launch of Forza Motorsport. To reinforce its impact, Romain Grosjean took part in the initiative and completed a lap with his E23 Hybrid on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, where he made it back to the podium last month, so that players have a reference to beat.

He thus compared the sensations experienced while playing to those felt in the cockpit: « I had the opportunity to drive the E23 Hybrid in the game and the gaming experience is absolutely extraordinary. The visual details in the car are perfect, the graphical effects take your breath away, and the sound is incredible: it almost feels like racing in the real car! »

The communication campaign obviously includes social media since players will have to post a screenshot of their time with the hashtag #Timetoshine. So that the mission isn’t impossible, there will be another player’s time to beat. This player’s time is Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox: « With the launch of Forza Motorsport 6, we want to invite all our fans to take part in our partnership with Lotus. Romain and I have set our best race times and we want fans to beat us to earn the latest rights in Forza 6. »

The story doesn’t say what will happen if an amateur driver sets a better time than a current F1 driver. Will they be offered a seat for the next season?
