Red Bull in the Rhythm at Spa
After a double podium in Hungary, Red Bull confirms its good form in Belgium as both cars finished 3rd and 4th this afternoon.
Daniel Ricciardo is smiling again as his car seems to have gained competitiveness. Thus, the first day in Belgium went well as he was the best of the rest behind the Mercedes in both sessions.
He therefore hopes that this will still be the case at the end of tomorrow’s qualifications: « In general, if we can stay third and fourth on this track, it will be a great performance. It will be tighter tomorrow since the gap with those behind will be much smaller, but we will see. Let’s hope we manage to maintain these positions for tomorrow. »
If the Australian had a slight scare in Eau Rouge, he did not come out traumatized: « I had a hot moment in Eau Rouge when I was on the edge but that’s what makes it fun! »
As for Daniil Kvyat, he settled behind his teammate in the afternoon after being 6th in the morning. But he was somewhat surprised by the heat prevailing on the circuit: « The weather was unusual for Spa, with high temperatures. Both sessions went well. »
He could therefore be satisfied that the overall balance of the car was good, even though they will have to find the last tenths of performance by tomorrow.
