Jenson Button and his wife robbed in Saint-Tropez

On vacation in the south of France, Jenson Button and his wife, Jessica Michibata, were burgled on Monday night. According to the British driver’s spokesperson, while the couple, along with several friends, were asleep, two men broke into the villa and stole several valuable items, mainly jewelry. In fact, his wife’s wedding ring has disappeared. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at over 300,000 pounds sterling.

The spokesperson also adds that after informing the police, they indicated that it was a recurring problem in the region and the thieves went as far as using gas in air conditioning units before taking action. Thus, the hypothesis of such a procedure is seriously considered. Only blood tests will be able to confirm it or not.

However, Jenson Button says he feels fine, and his manager, Richard Goddard, assured on Sky Sport that he was not experiencing any symptoms and that he was completely normal the day after the incident, it will not impact his schedule for Spa.

It is also recalled that Button was already the victim of an attempted robbery. It was in November 2010, during the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend.
