Satisfaction at Toro Rosso
After concluding the first Friday practice sessions with both cars in the top 10, Toro Rosso could only be pleased and look forward to a good weekend at Silverstone.
While the Red Bull cousins are regaining their smiles, Toro Rosso maintains its good pace displayed since the beginning of the season. Max Verstappen once again demonstrated his speed over a lap by setting the third-fastest time in the first practice session. The young Dutchman enjoyed his discovery of the British circuit: “We can be satisfied with our day, especially since it was the first time I drove an F1 on a track as challenging as Silverstone.”
Satisfaction is hardly different on the other side of the garage as Carlos Sainz finished 5th and 9th in the two sessions scheduled for the day. The clear objective is to finish in the points this Sunday: « Our pace is not too bad, even though we must remain cautious since it’s only Friday. Q3 and a top 10 finish in the race must remain our goal for the weekend. »
The Formula Renault 3.5 champion was also thrilled to drive on a circuit like Silverstone: « I love this track. I think it’s the most beautiful track I’ve driven on in F1 so far, and I really enjoyed myself. »
