2015 Canadian Grand Prix: The race live
From 7:45 PM, join the Motors Inside editorial team to experience the seventh Grand Prix of the 2015 Formula 1 season, which will take place at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit in Montreal.
Here we are in the heart of the province of Quebec at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. This track is located on an artificial island that is part of the city of Montreal. It consists of 15 turns over 4.361 kilometers in length.
Races here are often spectacular, the walls are very close while the average speed is high. The Safety Car can come onto the track at any time and completely change the complexion of the race.
The qualifications took place yesterday on a dry track. Lewis Hamilton dominated the session to secure his 44th Pole Position. Nico Rosberg lagged behind by 3 tenths.
Behind Kimi Räikkönen in his Ferrari will be the main challenger to Mercedes. For once, Sebastian Vettel experienced complicated Qualifying due to a Power Unit problem. Qualified 15th, he will start in 18th position due to a penalty received for passing Roberto Merhi’s Manor under a red flag in Free Practice.
As for the rest of the pack, it will be interesting to watch the match between the Mercedes-powered teams. Valtteri Bottas for Williams, and the two Lotus cars of Grosjean and Maldonado seem capable of fighting for strong positions of honor.
On the tire front, two options are possible: two stops versus one stop. A very economical Kimi Räikkönen could definitely attempt an alternate strategy to surprise the Mercedes team. Uncertainty also prevails after Free Practice sessions disrupted by rain and red flags. In the end, the teams have driven less than expected, and surprises could spice up this Grand Prix.
As for the past four seasons, Motors Inside invites you to experience the Grand Prix through live interactive text. We therefore invite you to follow this 2015 Canadian Grand Prix, starting at 7:45 PM.
