St Petersburg GP: The TV Schedule
The first race of the year promises to be explosive. For 2015, IndyCar is coming to Canal+ Sport. The channel will broadcast the American championship races live. Another new feature is the broadcast of the trials through official streaming.
IndyCar promises big things for 2015. Its communication is more aggressive than ever regarding the quality of the driver lineup: Montoya, Dixon, Power, Castroneves, the Frenchmen Bourdais and Pagenaud, not to mention the off-season surprise, Monegasque Coletti.
The first race takes place in the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, and on part of the Albert Whitted airport. The first turn is considered one of the most challenging of the year: the braking zone has white stripes, changes in surface, and the track narrows on exit. Added to the impatience of the competitors and those who want to “perform” to attract new sponsors, all the ingredients are in place to raise the tension of the drivers even before the first turn.
Canal+ Group was impressed by the quality of the North American competition. The channel is thus enriching its premium offering with a new major motorsport discipline. The live broadcasts will be covered by journalist Stéphane Genti, a fan of US sports and GP2 and Formula E commentator, as well as driver Jean-Karl Vernay, 2010 Indy Lights champion, the stepping stone to IndyCar.
They will be assisted in the studio by journalist Laurie Delhostal and former IndyCar driver Tristan Vautier.
The other good news is IndyCar’s decision to broadcast tests and qualifications live for free on YouTube via the site indycar.com: https://racecontrol.indycar.com. The official streaming starts at 1 PM this Friday to cover all the other single-seater disciplines of the weekend: USF2000, Pro Mazda, and Indy Lights.
