Burglary at the Red Bull Factory
Last night, Red Bull was the victim of an unusual incident at its factory: individuals broke in and stole more than 60 trophies won by the team over the course of its history.
At 1:30 a.m., an SUV and a Mercedes broke through the entrance gate of the factory, allowing them to enter and head towards the trophy room. They then got hold of more than 60 trophies from the stable.
Christian Horner, the team director, is nonetheless surprised that people would want to seize such objects, which they consider to have low market value: « Beyond the aggressive nature of this burglary, we are perplexed why someone would want to take these trophies. The value for the team is obviously extremely high because of the hard work and effort put into winning each of them. But their intrinsic value is low: they will have little value outside the team. Especially since most of the trophies on display were replicas. »
Nevertheless, the team is already planning to restrict access to its factory as hundreds of fans travel to Milton Keynes to view these trophies and the team’s single-seaters. Therefore, they are making a call for witnesses to try to recover evidence of their past successes.
