Lewis Hamilton will change his manager in 2015
Lewis Hamilton has chosen not to renew the contract that tied him to the agency XIX Entertainment. He will choose his new manager at the end of the season.
This is not the first time the British driver’s entourage is going to change. Indeed, in 2011, he decided to no longer use the services of his father, who had followed him throughout his entire career.
He had thus joined Simon Fuller’s organization. During their first year of cooperation, the two men decided to work directly together. However, by the following season, the British driver preferred to work with Didier Cotton, Mika Hakkinen’s manager. This new collaboration did not last longer either, as from the 2013 season, he preferred to work with Tom Shine.
However, next year, the split will be complete as the 2008 champion has chosen not to renew his contract with the sports management agency: “There isn’t much to say. The contract has expired and I’m going to do something different. I don’t know what yet, but I’ll decide at the end of the year.”
Many things will therefore be decided for the driver’s future at the end of the season since his contract with Mercedes also expires at the end of 2015. However, due to the title battle with his teammate Nico Rosberg, Mercedes and he have chosen not to have any discussions on the subject until the end of the current season.
Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda will therefore have new counterparts facing them to conduct these negotiations.
