Friday: Vergne and Kvyat satisfied for Toro Rosso
The Frenchman and the Russian lapped in similar times. JEV felt good in his F1, posting the sixth fastest time in FP1. Daniil from Bashkiria hopes to improve his car for qualifying.
Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 6th and 11th
The Frenchman was satisfied with his day and the behavior of his F1, despite disrupted practice sessions. He declares: « I am quite happy today, even though we had an issue in free practice 1 that didn’t allow me to do as many laps. But I felt good and I think we have a competitive car this weekend. The weather isn’t truly representative as, in addition to losing track time, I wasn’t able to do a perfect lap, but the race pace seems quite good. We will now do our usual work to try and improve our good performance for tomorrow and Sunday’s race. »
Daniil Kvyat (No. 26) – 9th and 10th
The Russian was very close to his teammate, with only 0.03 seconds separating them in their best laps. He explains: « It was a good session, not a bad performance following today’s sessions but we obviously always aim for a better position. Generally, we are quite good on Friday nights at analyzing all the data and improving the car for Saturday, so we will definitely do our best work possible to come back tomorrow in good shape, with a faster car. »
