Saturday: Sauber F1 couldn’t do better, Sutil and Gutierrez 14th and 15th
At Sauber, they believe they did their best in qualifying. Esteban Gutierrez admits to having made an error, ultimately without consequence. Despite a lack of track time, Adrian Sutil thinks he achieved the best possible result.
Adrian Sutil (#99) – 15th and 15th (14th on the grid)
The German believes he made a solid qualifying after experiencing hydraulic issues in FP3: « At the beginning of the session, the car’s handling was difficult. So we made some changes to the tire pressure and aerodynamic settings. The balance of the car improved lap by lap, but it took us time to feel more confident. I’m quite satisfied with my last lap, but 15th place is the maximum at the moment. Tomorrow, we need to make the most of it during the race. »
Esteban Gutierrez (No. 21) – 12th and 16th (15th on the grid)
Overall, the Mexican is satisfied with his qualification: « We could have gained a few more tenths since I made a small mistake on my last lap. I want to thank all the Ferrari officials because they have worked very hard to get closer to the other engine manufacturers. We work as a team and we are making progress. Obviously, we are still far from the other teams ahead of us, but we tried to get the most out of our car today.
