Last Grand Prix of the European Formula 1 season, in the temple of speed, at Monza, which should promise a fierce battle for pole position in a qualifying session that could be one of the closest of the year.
During the free practice sessions, it was obviously the Mercedes that took the lead, with Lewis Hamilton dominating both morning sessions on Friday and Saturday, while Nico Rosberg topped FP2. However, the German suffered a gearbox issue during FP3 and therefore missed essential running time.
Behind the Silver Arrows, there is no shortage of challengers: Ferrari seems comfortable at home, Williams and McLaren can leverage their top speed and the power of their star engines. Red Bull is more on the back foot.
