Saturday: At Toro Rosso, Kvyat shines, Vergne pouts
The performance of Toro Rosso was mixed with a very good Daniil Kvyat finishing 7th despite a yellow flag and a Jean-Eric Vergne struggling with oversteer.
Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 13th and 15th [14th on the grid]
In difficulty with the settings of his car, the Parisian complains of constant oversteering, which explains his poor result. Despite his disappointment, he is counting on the race to erase this underperformance. He states: « It’s really a shame because the team did an excellent job and the car has definitely improved with all the new parts we’ve brought here for the race. For once, the qualifying was bad, but there’s still the race, the car is good, and I’ll do my best to make up for what I lost today. »
Daniil Kvyat (No. 26) – 4th and 7th
The young Russian driver achieves his best result in qualifying and expresses satisfaction with the work done by his team. He explains: We managed to put everything together like a puzzle, and we’ve made a significant step forward between yesterday and today. […] Seventh place is a good starting position. I really like this track, and I hope we can have a good race in front of the entire Red Bull family.
