Austin hires a marketing expert
After two successful initial editions, Austin decided to separate marketing and sales activities to maximize its potential in each of these two sectors. This is why the Circuit of the Americas called on a marketing specialist, Dominic Iacono.
For this position, the leaders of Austin did not seek to recruit someone from the world of motorsports. On the contrary, they wanted to benefit from the skills of someone who had never worked in the sports world but in the consumer goods industry.
Thus, Dominic Iacono honed his skills at one of the largest marketing companies, namely Procter & Gamble. During his eleven years with the Cincinnati giant, he rose to the position of global marketing director for the Duracell battery brand. He was the architect of the brand’s investment in the NFL, the American football league. It is thanks to him that we have the “Trust the Power within” campaign, which highlights this partnership in the most popular of American sports.
Jason Dial, the CEO of the circuit, is counting on the skills of his new marketing director to help promote brand awareness of his circuit: “We are thrilled to welcome Dominic to the Circuit of the Americas family. Bringing someone of his caliber is a great victory for our organization. He is an exceptional leader and brings us tremendous expertise in marketing and brand building, making him an ideal addition to our team.”
He will thus take over some of the responsibilities that were previously held by Geoff Moore. Geoff Moore will now retain only the responsibility for ticket sales for the various events organized in the Texas venue, starting with the F1 Grand Prix and Moto GP, not to mention the numerous concerts held there.
Jason Dial thus stated: « Geoff has done an excellent job in getting us to where we are now. We continue to grow and attract world-class sports and entertainment, like the X Games. It was therefore necessary to build our marketing expertise to allow Geoff to focus on building our sales capabilities. »
