Thursday: Gutiérrez happy, Sutil less so at Sauber

Esteban Gutiérrez (#21) – 12th and 15th

The Mexican is happy with the progress made during the day and especially during the first session: « During this morning’s session, we made modifications to the car and it was better. We were able to improve lap after lap. I think I worked in the right direction. »

Gutiérrez is satisfied with his day but expects more: « Overall, it was a good day. We lost valuable time during FP2 due to the weather conditions. »

Adrian Sutil (No. 99) – 17th and 13th

The German driver admitted making a mistake during FP1 by hitting the rail: « During FP1, I had oversteer in turn 5, so I hit the rail. The tires weren’t up to temperature, and it was difficult to keep the car under control. But it was my fault. »

If the end of the day was good, there is still work to be done because the C33 is far from perfect on the streets of the Principality: « At the end of FP2, we were able to complete a few laps on super-softs, which worked well. The balance of the car is good. Overall, we still have issues that need to be addressed. The handling needs to be improved. During acceleration and braking, it is difficult to keep control of the car. »
