Friday: Vergne Laborious, Kvyat Optimistic at Toro Rosso
Toro Rosso managed to maintain its position in the hierarchy around the 10th place. Both drivers took positive aspects from the two free practice sessions.
Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 13th and 12th
The Frenchman, who lost a right rear wheel at the end of FP2, thinks a lot of work is needed to improve his situation: « not a bad Friday, even if there’s still a lot of work to do and things to understand for tomorrow. The certainly positive aspect is that we seem quite good on the long runs, so if we can improve tonight, it should be better tomorrow. »
Daniil Kvyat (no.26) – 11th and 10th
It was a good Friday for the Russian rookie who claims to be optimistic about the rest of the weekend: « it was a productive Friday and I was quite happy with the balance. The car was reliable on both types of tires, so we were able to collect a lot of useful data that we will study tonight. I feel good and hope we will prove to be strong tomorrow in qualifying. »
