Sahara Force India will also be visible in GP3
After the announcement of Hilmer Motorsport's entry into GP2, Sahara Force India decided to extend its partnership with the German team in this championship. The colors of the F1 team will thus be visible in all three championships.
Last month, Sahara Force India announced a partnership with the GP2 team Hilmer Motorsport. The agreement stipulates that the GP2 team will carry the colors associated with Silverstone. The partnership also offers Hilmer drivers the prospect of driving the Sahara Force India car at the end of the season, which can only serve as additional motivation.
Two weeks ago, Hilmer Motorsport announced that it would take the spot in GP3 left vacant by Russian Time, following the death of its founder, Igor Mazepa. Today’s announcement is therefore logical as it allows Vijay Mallya’s team to have an additional training level for young drivers. It also provides the opportunity to showcase new single-seaters on which the team’s sponsors, mainly companies owned by the team’s two co-owners, can be exposed.
Franz Hilmer, the owner and director of the eponymous team, declared: « We are very happy to announce the expansion of our collaboration with Sahara Force India. Following the partnership with our GP2 team, we are very proud that our GP3 team will race under the Sahara Force India colors. This is a great but logical step for us in developing ambitious talents. With teams in GP2 and GP3, we are present in the two main training formulas. We offer an ideal platform for young drivers. Our goal is to prepare them as well as possible in their progression towards the top of motorsports. »
By its first laps scheduled for April 10 next year, the team must now appoint the three drivers who will carry its colors during the 2014 season.
