12 years of partnership between Williams and Oris
Williams continues its series of sponsorship extension announcements with the one related to its contract with the watch brand Oris. This partnership will thus begin its twelfth season with the Grove-based team.
It’s a long-term partnership that takes a mischievous pleasure in reminding everyone of its existence almost every year. Although they have been partners since 2001, Oris and Williams seem to sign contracts for only one year at a time. This allows them to come back into the media spotlight at regular intervals. This is especially interesting for the Swiss brand as its visibility on the cars and suits is very limited.
However, the communication services of both partners did not demonstrate unfailing creativity for this statement since the words of Ulrich Herzog, the executive president of the brand, are a copy-paste from last year: « The prestigious world of Formula One continues to be the perfect platform to promote Oris and renewing this partnership reinforces our support and commitment to the Williams F1 Team. At Oris, we identify with the competitive environment of motor racing and the commitment to quality and success. »
Watch brands are numerous in F1, with Rolex having become the sport’s overall sponsor. Ultimately, only Caterham and Toro Rosso do not have a sponsor in this sector, since Red Bull has an agreement with Casio, Ferrari with Hublot, Mercedes with IWC, Lotus with Richard Mille, Force India with TW Steel, Sauber with Certina, and Marussia with Armin Strom.
