The final calendar for the 2014 F1 season unveiled

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) released the final calendar for the 2014 Formula 1 season this Wednesday, and there are no major surprises. Indeed, as anticipated and reconfirmed by Bernie Ecclestone, the Grand Prix of the Americas, which was supposed to take place in New Jersey, will not happen in 2014. The same goes for the Mexican Grand Prix.

On the side of new additions to the calendar, there is only one, the Russian Grand Prix, which appears for the first time on a Formula 1 season calendar and will take place on October 12th. Austria, meanwhile, makes its return after an 11-year absence, with the race taking place at the Red Bull Ring, which was recently renovated. As announced several weeks ago, India is not present on this calendar, nor is South Korea, which likely suffers from its low interest in F1.

As in this year, there will be 19 Grand Prix events stretching from March 16 to November 23, reflecting a schedule similar to /f1/actualite/16691-ecclestone-repousse-le-grand-prix-de-new-york-a-2015.html. The traditional summer break is also maintained, with a rather calm August. However, a change from /f1/actualite/16691-ecclestone-repousse-le-grand-prix-de-new-york-a-2015.html is that the last race in 2014 will be held in Abu Dhabi, whereas the finale of /f1/actualite/16691-ecclestone-repousse-le-grand-prix-de-new-york-a-2015.html took place in Brazil.
