Saturday: Williams Less Competitive in the Rain
Pastor Maldonado is struggling in his last weekend with the Williams F1 team, as shown by his elimination in Q1. But the Venezuelan remains hopeful and will aim for points tomorrow. Like Valtteri Bottas who will start from the 13th position on the grid.
Valtteri Bottas – 4th and 13th:
This weekend has been challenging for us so far in the wet because we’ve struggled to find the best settings here. Our car seems better in the dry for the moment, so I think the 13th place is a fair reflection of our current competitiveness. It’s not a bad starting position for the race, so hopefully, we can fight for the top 10 tomorrow and score some extra points.
Pastor Maldonado – 8th and 17th:
« It has been a difficult day today; we have struggled to get the rear tires up to temperature all weekend. With conditions like today, we were not able to extract 100% from the car in the first lap, which is when the best laps were set in Q1. Tomorrow, we still hope to be in the points, so we will prepare well tonight and do our best in the race. »
