Friday: The Lotus is still improvable in the rain
Heikki Kovalainen was pleased to drive again in the rain in Brazil and was satisfied with the performance of his Lotus. Romain Grosjean had more difficulty but feels he has made good progress and hopes to make more before qualifying.
Heikki Kovalainen – 9th and 4th:
« Obviously, it was difficult conditions, but it was good for me to have an experience in the rain. There were no big surprises, and the car behaved well. It was a bit more difficult than driving on dry conditions, but we expected that. That being said, I think the team has made good progress in this area because the car was not too difficult to drive. There are still points to improve, but we don’t know yet what the weather will be like tomorrow. »
Romain Grosjean – 13th and 10th:
It wasn’t perfect weather, and we still have progress to make with our rain settings for conditions like today’s. This morning, I struggled to find grip with too much understeer, but we made progress in this area this afternoon and have ideas to do even better for tomorrow. It’s a challenge with the spray and standing water, but despite everything, it’s really incredible to drive here at Interlagos.
