Resignation of the President of Circuit of the Americas
As the Austin race has just taken place, Steve Sexton, the president of the Texas circuit, has decided to resign to focus on his family.
The second edition of the Circuit of the Americas event was once again a success with over 110,000 people gathered on race day, representing a decrease of only 3% compared to the inaugural event. Events such as those in India or China experienced much larger drops, starting with significantly smaller volumes.
Now that the event is establishing itself sustainably, its CEO has decided it is time for him to step back and make room for others: We have achieved a lot over the past few years, and it’s the right time to hand over to Jason Dial, who is very well positioned to lead COTA (Circuit of the Americas) into its next chapter. The enormous effort required to build and launch an internationally recognized business in a few months has left little room for anything other than work. I look forward to taking a break and spending more time with my family, who have made many sacrifices while we were completely focused on opening the circuit and setting COTA on the path to long-term success.
Jason Dial is a sports-business specialist as he was the marketing director for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers American football team before joining the Austin circuit. His efforts allowed his team to achieve the highest customer satisfaction in the NFL, which is no small feat in the most popular sport across the Atlantic. Previously, he held various positions at multinational Procter & Gamble, eventually becoming the global sports marketing director. During this period, he increased the number of sports where the Cincinnati group’s brands were present from 4 to 40. He therefore has all the necessary experience to make the Texas infrastructure thrive and shine on the international stage.
