Sebastian Vettel – 1st and Pole position

« It’s obviously great for the team to have both cars on the front row tomorrow. It was a tricky session since the wind picked up a bit since this morning. It influences the car’s behavior, and it’s not so easy, especially in the corners. I wasn’t happy with my first lap in Q3, but I think I put in a solid run at the end, which was enough. It was very close with Mark. He seemed to be getting closer as the weekend went on. Fortunately, I was able to stay ahead. I think he might have made a mistake on his last lap. I’m very happy with my pole position today. I love this place and the circuit, and I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow. It’s important to start on the clean side of the track. We’ll see what we can do. »

Mark Webber – 2nd and 2nd

« I didn’t think I did enough in the second run of Q3 and we both had two attempts with two sets of mediums. The first part of my last lap was very good. I was happy with it, but I made a small mistake in turns 19 and 20. If I could have done there what I initially did in Q3, it probably would have been enough, but I tried to do a bit better and it’s easy to overload the car in those conditions. Sometimes you’re happy and think you’ve done your best, but today it slipped through my fingers. Congratulations to Seb. He put together three sectors and I only managed two and a half. I let it slip in the last sector and it’s not satisfying when that happens to you, but I’m still happy to be second.
