Friday: Force India was able to emerge from the fog

Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta, the two main drivers of the Force India team, were driving in Austin today. Sutil achieved his best performance by setting the 11th fastest time but believes he can do better on a track he is discovering. Di Resta, for his part, is focusing all his attention on tire management with a view to likely making only one pit stop during the race. The Scot is confident after seeing his teammate's performance and believes they have interesting opportunities before the qualifications.

Friday: Force India was able to emerge from the fog

Adrian Sutil – 14th and 11th:

« It’s the first time I’ve come to Austin and I must say I really like this track. There are interesting turns, some easy and others more complicated where you can easily make mistakes. It’s not easy to learn the circuit because you are constantly challenged, especially during the fast sections. We worked hard to improve the car’s settings today, but the balance is not yet what I would like. Fortunately, we can make significant changes tonight. Regarding the tires, there are no big differences between the hards and the mediums, and we did long runs with both types of tires so we should be well prepared for the rest of the weekend. »

Paul Di Resta – 15th and 15th:

It was difficult to understand exactly where we stood today, and I don’t believe my position in FP2 reflects our real performance. I had a lot of traffic on my fast lap, so I think the position Adrian obtained is more representative of our level compared to the competition. The long stints that these tires enable seem interesting with the performance we’ve shown in recent races. Our work tonight will be focused on the tires: understanding them to better manage them throughout the weekend.
