Follow the 2013 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix qualifying live

This weekend, Formula 1 heads to Abu Dhabi, and even though the two world championship titles have already been awarded to Sebastian Vettel and Infiniti Red Bull Racing last weekend in India, this race is not without interest.

At the back of the pack, Caterham will try to regain the 10th place in the constructors’ championship from Marussia, while Sauber will attempt to catch up with Force India, which is trying to close in on McLaren. A bit higher, the three-way battle between Ferrari, Mercedes, and Lotus continues for the 2nd place in the constructors’ championship. Sebastian Vettel will aim for a 7th consecutive victory, while Mark Webber will try to end his last F1 season on a high note, just like Vettel’s opponents, who have been rather starved of victories this year.

Pirelli has brought the medium and soft tires like in India, but they seem to hold up much better here in Abu Dhabi, which should allow for interesting race strategies.

As for the qualifications, Sebastian Vettel clocked the fastest times during free practice 2 and 3, with Mark Webber following his teammate in these two sessions. The Red Bull cars seem, once again, to be the most competitive, but they will need to watch out for the Mercedes and Lotus teams. The Scuderia Ferrari, which has not been very prominent since yesterday, will have to be cautious of the Sauber and McLaren teams to be present in Q3.
