Friday: A rather good first day for Lotus
Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean did not experience a perfect first day of testing, but it was still good, and both Lotus drivers are confident for the rest of the weekend in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman is convinced that the issues encountered during the second free practice session can be resolved by tomorrow.
Romain Grosjean – 1st and 12th:
« It was quite a good day even though we lost some track time in the last session while working on the brakes. We also had a small vibration that we need to analyze, but it wasn’t the end of the world. The car seems good as we saw with the best time in the first session, so I’m confident we’ll be able to sort everything out for tomorrow. »
Kimi Räikkönen – 6th and 4th:
The car seems good and we had a pretty normal Friday. The shorter chassis seems fine here, but I haven’t driven it back-to-back with the longer one so it’s hard to say which is better. We still have to resolve some understeer issues, but on this track, it seems better for the moment. As always, there are improvements to be made on the car so we’ll see what happens tomorrow.
