Friday: Vettel and Red Bull Already on Top in Abu Dhabi
Sebastian Vettel was the fastest during the second free practice in conditions similar to those of qualifying and the race. Mark Webber followed closely by finishing 2nd in this session, so for the moment, even though there is still work to be done, the Red Bull team can be pleased with their day.
Sebastian Vettel – 3rd and 1st:
It’s difficult to say today where we stand compared to the others, we know the Lotus cars are fast here, but we also had a good pace today. It’s not always so easy on this circuit with changing conditions throughout the day; we start in daylight and finish at night, and the track temperature changes a lot during that time. But, no major issues, so I’m quite happy.
Mark Webber – 4th and 2nd:
« The second session today was more representative of the race and qualifying than the first, due to the time of day and temperatures. Today’s focus is mainly on the tires; I think the softs will hold up better here than last week [in India, editor’s note]. It wasn’t too bad for the first day, we got the information we needed, so we’ll see what we do tomorrow. We will analyze everything tonight and try to understand the car with both types of compounds. »
