New chassis for Webber in Japan

The images went around the world, and not in a good way, since the marshals at the Yeongam circuit were criticized for their slow intervention on Mark Webber’s car, which was on fire. The fire broke out following an oil radiator rupture after the contact with Adrian Sutil’s Force India.

Today, Red Bull announced that the Australian will have a new chassis starting from the Japanese GP. The damage caused by the fire was too extensive to realign the single-seater seen in Korea. Red Bull had initially considered repairing the RB9. Mark Webber stated that it was a new car, but the engine and the gearbox were spared from the flames. Only the chassis will be new.
