Sunday: Sauber scores two more points

Nico Hülkenberg – 9th: « In the end, we can be happy. We scored two more points. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much more. We can’t expect every weekend to be like Monza, but we have significantly improved. It was a very complicated race. I had a really good start and then fought with Sergio Perez. In the end, I had to give him back the place and I don’t entirely agree with that. There was a Williams in the fight as well. Sergio was on the inside but I had to give him space and took the outer curb. The car then bottomed out and I went off. Still, I was ahead of Sergio before and after the corner. In the end, it was pure survival because the tires were destroyed. Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, and Mark Webber all had new tires and I just had to focus on the track to finish the race. »

Esteban Gutierrez – 12th: We were hoping for a better result today. Our pace during the race wasn’t as good, especially at the beginning when I was struggling a lot with the car. From time to time, I pushed a bit too much, I had a lot of oversteer and the tires were degrading. It’s one of the toughest races I’ve ever done. I did my best and that’s where I finished. The strategy wasn’t ideal either. However, the weekend was a step forward, and now I’m going to keep working to improve.
