Sunday: Disappointment is in order at Mercedes

Nico Rosberg – 6th:

« It hasn’t been one of our best weekends, and it seems slightly compromised from the outset. It’s really a shame because the car’s pace seemed good in the race, but we weren’t able to take advantage due to the problems we encountered yesterday. It’s so important to be comfortable with your settings here, and I wasn’t able to have the car I wanted after losing time in free practice 3. I tried everything to get past Nico [Hülkenberg] to gain an extra place today, but he was fast in the end, and it didn’t work out. Now, we’re heading to Singapore in two weeks. I love street circuits, so let’s hope we have a better weekend. »

Lewis Hamilton – 9th:

It was a tough weekend for me, but these things happen, and I have to say it’s been a good year so far. I gave it everything today; the car’s pace was good, but unfortunately, we paid the price for qualifying in the middle of the pack. My radio didn’t work from the start of the race, and it’s really difficult when that happens because you rely on the team’s advice and information to manage your race. I wasn’t even aware of the slow puncture until the end of the race, so now I better understand why I made an extra stop. I had a lot of fun this afternoon, especially in my battle with Kimi. It’s tough to fight your way back through the field, even though our car was clearly fast. We will work as a team, and I know we will bounce back in Singapore. We will give it our all to achieve a better performance there than we did here.
