Sutil would like to continue with Force India in 2014

Adrian Sutil prefers to focus on the end of the 2013 season rather than his seat for 2014, but while the German driver would like to join a top team, he can also see himself continuing with the Sahara Force India team next season.

Sutil would like to continue with Force India in 2014

After a year away from the circuits, Adrian Sutil has secured a regular seat with the Sahara Force India team this season. The German driver has finished in the points several times, with his best result being a 5th place in Monaco.

Fighting for points is nice for Sutil, but the German aims higher as he confided to the official Formula 1 site: « Every driver aims to win races and fight for the championship. If you don’t have that desire, you’re in the wrong place. But, of course, you need the right car to win. So naturally, the best car is the one I want to be in. So it’s no surprise that Ferrari and Mercedes are F1 teams I particularly appreciate. Both are important brands with a long tradition in Formula 1.

Summer is the perfect time for rumors of driver transfers, but Sutil has remained rather unaffected by these rumors for the moment, and it doesn’t bother him; on the contrary, he stays focused on his driving: « To be honest, I’m focused on the present and the upcoming races. There are a lot of rumors, but in my opinion, nobody really knows what’s happening. Formula 1 is a complicated sport where there are many aspects to consider before making decisions – and sometimes those decisions can be quite surprising! »

If he dreams of joining a more prestigious team, Sutil can also very well see himself continuing with the Force India team next season: « If I do my job well and they are happy, there will be a good chance to stay. Sahara Force India will be the first team we will talk to for the 2014 season. »

The 30-year-old German driver is competing in his 6th Formula 1 season, but he hopes it won’t be the last: “My one and only goal is to have a long and successful career in F1!”
