Friday: Williams drivers want to reduce the gap
As Williams surpassed its 600th Grand Prix last week, its two drivers have yet to score a single point in 2013, due to a car that is lagging behind the pack. But Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas will give their all to help Sir Frank Williams' team close the gap with its competitors.
Valtteri Bottas – 16th and 17th
« We conducted several mechanical tests on the car today and gathered good data to determine what the car settings should be for the rest of the weekend. Temperatures will be a bit warmer on Saturday and Sunday, so we will have to get the most out of the tires on those two days. The gap between our car and the others hasn’t changed much, but we will do our best with what we have to see if it’s possible to find something better for tomorrow. »
Pastor Maldonado – 15th and 18th
It wasn’t a very good day for us, but during free practice 1, it seemed like the car was better than during the last race. We tried different setups and rear wings on each of the cars, but we need to find more speed to close the gap with the cars ahead. I like this track and the surface was improving lap by lap. We need to analyze what we found today to make changes that will allow us to improve the car for tomorrow.
