Sunday: Williams will celebrate their 600th race without a point
Starting 15th and 16th at the 600th Grand Prix for the Williams team, Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas finished the British Grand Prix with twists and turns just outside the points in 11th and 12th place.
Pastor Maldonado – 11th:
« It was difficult today in the race but our pace was consistent. We weren’t fast enough, but I was happy with the car’s balance and we avoided tire issues. I am eager to improve our pace, especially in qualifying. We were close to scoring our first points today, but before the third start [editor’s note: after the second Safety Car] I stayed on the inside of the corner and Nico Hülkenberg went off the track and hit me when he returned to the circuit, which made me lose two positions. »
Valtteri Bottas – 12th:
« It wasn’t an easy race because of the car, which was difficult to drive. We didn’t find the best settings during qualifying or for the race. Additionally, we lost time during pit stops, so we’ll need to improve on all these points to progress. Scoring points was achievable today but we just missed out… »
