Friday: The foundations are solid at Lotus
Friday was not focused on performance for Lotus. The team is therefore confident for the rest of the weekend, even if it does not expect to be among the very best in the lineup.
Kimi Räikkönen – no time and 13th:
« I am quite happy overall today. We made a lot of effort to test the new “system,” it looks pretty good. I only drove with the development and hard tires, so I didn’t do a fast lap. But it didn’t feel too bad, and we will be able to make progress once everything is in place. I don’t think we are among the very fast ones, but I think we won’t be far behind. »
Romain Grosjean – 14th and 9th:
« It has been a solid day. Fortunately, the rain stopped falling this afternoon and we were able to do a good number of laps. This will help us set up the settings and configuration for tomorrow. It is difficult to say exactly how the car stands because of the weather conditions. Moreover, I drove with all types of tires, so my engineers have their work cut out for them tonight to analyze the information and determine what will be best. The car is performing well. I believe that if we can improve a few areas, we should be good during qualifying. »
