Saturday: Sutil and Force India aim for the podium
If he starts 8th on the grid, Adrian Sutil believes he can make it onto the Monaco podium by the end of the race. As for Paul di Resta, he will only start 17th due to poor tire management in Q1.
Adrian Sutil – 15th and 8th:
« The conditions were very tricky today, with the track half wet and half dry. We never knew if the track was going to dry completely or if it would continue to rain. It was therefore important to have the right tires at the right time. The team did an excellent job choosing the tires and making the right decisions. I must also thank my team for repairing my car in time for this session, after the accident this morning. Tomorrow, I’ll have to push hard. My goal is the podium and I have seven cars ahead of me. So with a good strategy, anything is possible. I must therefore focus and do my best to seize this opportunity. »
Paul di Resta – 8th and 17th:
We were not up to the mark today, which is a shame because we had a good pace in the wet, and it’s the most important qualifying of the year. The intermediate tires were working well for me, but we didn’t read the conditions correctly from the pit wall. I needed a new set of intermediates towards the end of the session. But by the time we realized it, it was too late, and I didn’t have time to make a pit stop. The only option we had was to stay out. But my tires were dead, and I didn’t have the opportunity to improve. It’s tough to start from this position considering our pace today.
