Sunday: Williams couldn’t do better
Even though the two Williams cars didn't start on the same tires, they were both on a three-stop strategy. This strategy allowed them to get close to the points, which was the best the car's performance allowed its drivers.
Pastor Maldonado: 11th
Given the problems we had, I think we got 100% out of what we could from the car today. We set everything up well today, working as a team and saving the tires, and 11th place is the best we could do. We are really looking forward to the next race, where we should make another step forward. We must stay united and positive. It’s a challenging period, but there are still many races to go.
Valtteri Bottas: 14th
The race was truly dominated by the rear tires today. During the first two stints, I was fighting with many cars. It was therefore difficult to pay attention to the tires and maintain a good pace. The last two stints were better when I had clean air and was able to make up some ground on the cars ahead. We need to keep working to bring some additional improvements to help us in the upcoming races.
