RBC replaces CNBC at Marussia

RBC is the third Russian company since the beginning of the season to join the ranks of Marussia’s supporters, after the foreign exchange market specialist InstaForex and the online betting company BC Liga Stavok.

It can be largely compared to its predecessor, CNBC, as the official media partner of the team since RBC is also specialized in economic information, whether on television, on the Internet, or in print. As was mentioned and implemented at the time of the agreement with the American group, the association of the two companies aims to provide new B-to-B operational opportunities to current and future sponsors of the team.

This is what Andy Webb, the CEO of the team, explains: “I am delighted with the increase in our Anglo-Russian relations, highlighted by the addition of our new partnership with RBC, which follows other announcements with Russian partners. It is an essential part of our goal to bring more F1 to Russia and more of Russia to F1. RBC’s media influence and powerful coverage of the business and luxury markets in Russia will be essential in promoting the Marussia F1 Team and its partners in this important market.”

Media groups are a prime target for teams since they allow them to offer their sponsors not only advertising on the cars and suits but also negotiated price advertising pages. Thus, besides CNBC with Lotus and RBC with Marussia, CNN is a historic partner of Caterham while Reuters has been supporting Williams for many years.
