BC Liga Stavok bets on Marussia

Last July, the Marussia team organized a roadshow in the Russian capital, Moscow. It was an opportunity to partner with several local brands eager to be visible on a Formula 1 car.

BC Liga Stavok, a specialist in sports betting, was part of this, being present at the height of Charles Pic’s legs. This initial collaboration having achieved its internal communication objectives, its leaders decided to be present for the entire 2013 season.

Oleg Zhuravsky, the honorary president of BC Liga Stavok and president of the Russian National Bookmakers Association, is therefore very lyrical in his statement: “We were a sponsor of Marussia F1 Team for the first time during the Moscow City Racing last July. We decided that if the experiment proved successful, we would sponsor the team for the 2013 season. This has happened. For the first time in the history of this sport, we have a Russian company sponsoring a Russian team. I hope that the association of two number ones [11 is a lucky number in betting, ed. note], the first Russian betting company, Liga Stavok, and the first Russian team in F1, Marussia F1 Team, will lead to shared success.”

The agreement thus provides that the company’s logo will be visible on the cars and suits of Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton. Thus, the company’s website displays a photo of a Marussia on the track with its logo, located on the top of the engine cover. However, at the time of the first free practice sessions of the Australian Grand Prix, there was no trace of this logo. Could the stickers have been lost in transit?

It will also be necessary to see in the coming weeks and months if other Russian companies will partner with Marussia, now that Vitaly Petrov is no longer on the grid. He had the support of a number of compatriot companies, but they did not seem able to present a sufficient budget to keep him on the grid.
