JCC enters the Marussia box
After a first year of collaboration dedicated to the Marussia Technical Center, JCC Lighting has decided to expand its presence within the team. Its products will therefore also be available at the Grand Prix events.
In 2012, Marussia decided to revamp its facilities in Banbury, where the LEDs developed by JCC took on significant importance. However, the team’s garages at the circuits did not have them and were only lit by traditional large neon lights.
The 2013 season thus marks a new milestone for this partnership as JCC will now have the opportunity to showcase its products on the 19 circuits of the calendar, since its LEDs will now be present above the single-seaters of Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton.
It will therefore now be a multi-year agreement, as explained by Jonathan Parry, the head of operations for the British company: “We are delighted with this new multi-year agreement and the opportunity it offers us to showcase the JCC brand to a global audience. The partnership with the Marussia F1 Team has allowed us to install our latest LEDs in a precision work environment that the team at Banbury demands. We have now been able to extend this same level of lighting quality into the pit lane with the new generation of LEDs, using one of our best-sellers, the Fireguard LED7.”
However, although the agreement has been extended, it does not fundamentally increase JCC’s visibility since the company’s logo will still not be present on the cars or equipment of the team’s drivers and employees.
